Member Status
The three membership states for contacts in the Member lifecycle stage — active, on leave, or graduated out.
Member Status describes the current standing of an active EO member in your chapter. Where Lifecycle Stage is the broad bucket ("they're a Member"), Member Status is the detail underneath.
The member-status values EO uses
- Member — active, paid, in good standing with the chapter.
- On Leave — temporary pause approved by the chair (sabbatical, parental leave, illness). The member retains rights but is excluded from engagement metrics and dues cycles during the leave period.
- Elumni — an EO graduate who was a member and has since transitioned out (completed their journey, departed, or moved to a different EO path). The "E" prefix is intentional — it's EO's own term for alumni.
- Terminated — removed from the chapter by the organisation, as distinct from a member who resigned or graduated out voluntarily.
Why "Elumni" instead of "Alumni"
EO uses the term Elumni (EO + Alumni) across its global programmes. HubSpot's own Lifecycle Stage has a separate "Alumni" value — to avoid confusion, EO's custom Member Status field uses the EO-branded spelling. If you see both in a record, they refer to the same concept: the member's journey with the chapter has concluded.
